My Professional Experiences ...
Violinist and Conductor — Now in my fourth decade of professional music making, I have been a contracted member of the Delaware Symphony since 1988. I began my performing career as a conservatory trained musician with degrees in Violin Performance and Orchestral Conducting.
Public School Orchestra Director — A National Board Certified Teacher since 2005, I engaged a diverse student population to inspire life-long learning, connected with varied constituencies through performance and fostered community partnerships. Retired in 2021 after 33 years of middle and high school teaching, I developed a rigorous and quality music instruction program that received national recognition, including a citation from the Grammy Foundation and performances at the Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall.
Music Department District Chair — With 13 years of lateral leadership, my skills include project design, budget management, personnel mentoring and professional development. Through varied service at the state and local levels, I am skilled in application of teaching standards and designing curriculum and assessments.
